My daily exploration of the Bible, taking it one chapter at a time. If I do it everyday, it'll take 1189 days.

Isaiah 25

God's banquet

Summary:
Praise God! He can destroy cities, so warriors will worship him. You look after the poor and silence the loud foreigners.

On this mountain God has a banquet for us all, and he will take away the shrouds which hide. He will destroy death. Then we will know that he is our God. He will tramp over Moab.

Key verses:
7-8. On this mountain he will destroy
the shroud that enfolds all peoples,
the sheet that covers all nations; he will swallow up death forever.

My thoughts:
If 'this mountain' is Zion, then this is clearly a prophecy about Jesus, and how in him God swallow death and wiped every tear and brought together all peoples to take away the shroud.

It's nice to have a chapter that isn't just judgement on a certain people group for once!

I am constantly amazed by the Bible's lack of ambiguity.
