My daily exploration of the Bible, taking it one chapter at a time. If I do it everyday, it'll take 1189 days.

Isaiah 63

Father God

Woah! Check out this awesome dude coming back from the nations. He's the mighty one. His clothes are red with the blood of the nations. No-one helped him though.

I'll tell you about how awesome God is. He saw us, and decided to save us. He felt our pain and helped us. But then we pissed him off, and he went against us. But we remembered him from Moses' time. We wondered where he went. He is our Father. We are his forever. Come back God!

Key verse:
16. you, O Lord, are our Father,
our Redeemer from of old is your name.

My thoughts:
The concept of God as Father is not uncommon to Christians, but it is not overt in the Old Testament. Here is one clear verse pointing to the intimate relationship Israel held, or aimed to hold with their God.
