My daily exploration of the Bible, taking it one chapter at a time. If I do it everyday, it'll take 1189 days.

Daniel 12

Everlasting life or not everlasting life

Summary:
After that Michael will come and save all the people whose name is in the book. The dead will rise to be judged. Daniel asked how long it would take for this to happen, and he got a freaken' cryptic answer - "It will be for a time, times and half a time."

Daniel wanted to know the outcome but got no answer. There would always be the righteous and the wicked. It would take about 3.5 years from when the temple got desecrated to when it was sweet again, and people need to sweat it out for those 3.5 years.

Key verse:
2. Multitudes who sleep in the dust of the earth will awake: some to everlasting life, others to shame and everlasting contempt.

My thoughts:
This is the most explicit mention of resurrection in the Old Testament. Some rise to go to life, and others to go to death.

3.5*2=7

Deane:
Yes. This theme didn't get revealed until quite late in the peace.

Pete's thoughts:
3.5*2=7
Deane:
and if you * that by 70, you have perfect forgiveness.
