My daily exploration of the Bible, taking it one chapter at a time. If I do it everyday, it'll take 1189 days.

Micah 1

Micah prophesied about Jerusalem and Samaria. As God comes, the mountains melt like wax before him. He is coming to destroy Samaria and Jerusalem for their sin.

So I'll mourn naked, because Judah cannot recover. The whole nation should be covered in mourning. Lachish started the sin. All other parts will be punished in witty ways making puns of the names of the cities. Everyone should shave their heads.

Key verse:
4. The mountains melt beneath him
and the valleys split apart,
like wax before the fire,
like water rushing down a slope.

My thoughts:
It's always hard to follow a text which talks about a bunch of places which you know nothing about.

Anyway, every judgement in this chapters is playing on the name of the city in Hebrew. It's like saying Rotorua will be rotoruined. I totally should've been chosen to write the Bible...
