My daily exploration of the Bible, taking it one chapter at a time. If I do it everyday, it'll take 1189 days.

Zechariah 6

Chariots and Priestkings

Four chariots came from between mountains. They were the four spirits of heaven and they went throughout the earth, North, South, East and West. The Spirit rested where the one going North went.

Zechariah was told to make a crown for Joshua, and he was called the Branch who would build the temple. He would be the kingly priest. No longer would there separate roles for priests and kings.

Key verse:
13. It is he who will build the temple of the Lord, and he will be clothed with majesty and will sit and rule on his throne. And he will be a priest on his throne. And there will be harmony between the two.

My thoughts:
So there perhaps here seems to be an affinity between Joshua and Jesus. Jesus is heralded in the New Testament as both the High Priest and King, and is prophesied here. Pretty cool...
