My daily exploration of the Bible, taking it one chapter at a time. If I do it everyday, it'll take 1189 days.

John 21

The disciples were fishing, but catching nothing. Jesus told them to fish from the other side from the shore, and they caught 153 fish. Peter noticed that it was in fact Jesus and ran up to him, and everyone ate together.

Jesus asked Peter three times if he loved him, and Peter said yes. Jesus told him to look after his people. Jesus called on Peter to follow him.

John was there too.

There's much more to Jesus' story, but it's not written here. There's too much.

Key verse:
This is the disciple who testifies to these things and who wrote them down. We know that his testimony is true.

My thoughts:
So Jesus asked Peter three times to symbolically reinstate him for his three denials.

To me this reeks of eye-witness, as the book claims. The exact number of fish is counted and recorded. The author is firmly identified in the story, and explains his role in the story.

Anyway, we come to the end of the gospels. Now onto the Acts of the Holy Spirit once Jesus is gone. Exciting!
