My daily exploration of the Bible, taking it one chapter at a time. If I do it everyday, it'll take 1189 days.

2 Corinthians 8

The Macedonians, though poor, and very very generous. They begged to support me beyond their means! The love the Lord first, but us second! Make sure you keep generosity on your list of strong attributes too. I'm not telling you to give, but I'm making it prettt darn clear that you should!

So give like you used to! We're not trying to make you worse off, we're just trying to make it fair compared to the others. Like they say, "what goes around, comes around."

Titus will come, and he's pretty keen to help, especially with that whole generosity thing. He'll come with an awesome Christ-follower. So show them love.

Key verse:
7. But just as you excel in everything—in faith, in speech, in knowledge, in complete earnestness and in your love for us—see that you also excel in this grace of giving.

My thoughts:
Ah giving. It's funny watching Paul trying to be clear, whilst also tip-toeing around the topic. But I think he is being direct without being a dick. No matter how you put it, Christians should be giving. They should be generous. They should be generous to build up the Church (with a capital C). People don't like to hear it, and many people just switch off and think "Damn Pente's/Christians/Evangelicals, always want your money!" whenever someone talks about money, but it truely is important and there are no excuses.
